FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How to know in which level I’m at?
If you are just starting to learn the language and want to start with the basics, then the beginner level is for you. If you’re able to communicate and hold a simple conversation, but you would like to expand your vocabulary or refine your skills, then intermediate is for you. If you can keep a conversation going but want to expand to a more specific vocabulary and conversational slang, then advanced level is for you. You can always try and see.
  • What hour can I arrive to the classes?
The language tutors would generally arrive 10 minutes earlier, so that’s when the doors open.
  • What’s the price for the classes?
They are free. This is thanks to our volunteers who are teaching ad honorem, and to different companies that donate to LASSA to support these programs. If you want to donate, you can do so in this link.
  • Can I bring my children to the classes?
LASSA is sharing space with an office, which is, unfortunately, not an adequate space for kids. We are envisioning in a near future, some bigger facilities and expanding the program to teach language to children as well, but for the moment, we prefer to keep adult education only.
  • Can I attend 2 levels at the same time?
You can attend as many classes as you want. If you feel comfortable attending two levels at the same time, you are more than welcome to do so.
  • Will I obtain any diploma or recognition at the end?
No. These are conversational and very interactive classes, but there’s no exams or certifications after completion.
  • How to get there?
Via public transportation, by bus, train, or tram. Bus services from most metropolitan Adelaide suburbs stop on all of Rundle Mall's boundary streets. If you're already within the CBD, Adelaide Metro runs a free City Loop Bus (99C) which stops at Rundle Mall. Adelaide Metro also offers free travel inside the CBD in the tram. Or if you jump on the train, Rundle Mall is a short five-minute walk from the station. Via car: You can also find lots of parking near Rundle Mall. Once inside Rundle Mall, you can find LASSA’s offices, by walking towards the Pigeon sculpture in front of H&M.
  • Is there any parking nearby?
We recommend the parking spots around Rundle Mall that are free after 6PM. The closest paid car parks are UPark Gawler and Rundle Place Carpark.
  • How can I confirm my attendance?
Ideally, we always recommend confirming your attendance in the whatsapp group, so teachers have an idea of how many students to expect.
  • How to know if there’s going to be a class this week?
Classes are held every week, if for any reason any of the teachers cannot attend, this will be informed through the whatsapp group.
